Eleven joints per hand, force sensed at every fingertip.
Resolution down to 0.05 N lets the OR-02 Pro hold a vial, a seedling or a screwdriver with the same hand.
Forty-four degrees of freedom, and hands careful enough to move a seedling.
Three humanoids, one body plan. Hands, heads and batteries share a single interface, so a lab can start small and change shape later.
How the platform worksThe details that decide whether a robot is pleasant to work beside: how it senses, how quietly it moves and how long it stays on its feet.
Resolution down to 0.05 N lets the OR-02 Pro hold a vial, a seedling or a screwdriver with the same hand.
360 degree coverage without a ring of lenses staring back at the people nearby.
6.5h
Runtime at walking pace on the OR-02 Pro. The pack swaps in under 40 seconds while the robot keeps its balance.
Quieter than a library, so people talk to it rather than about it.
from oryn import Robot robot = Robot.connect("or-02-lab-3") robot.hands.right.grasp( target="rack_b/vial_4", max_force_n=1.2, ) robot.wait_until_idle() # returns once the vial is seated
No licence fees for the SDK or updates. Every skill runs in the simulator before it runs on the robot.
Four settings, each with a partner who runs Oryn platforms every week.
“We had the OR-01 walking our corridor test loop within an afternoon. It is the first platform we have used that does not fight the hardware.”
“The field unit walks our glasshouse at six in the morning and logs every truss. Mud on the feet is a non-event.”
“Visitors talk to the OR-01 instead of about it. That quietness changed how the whole gallery feels.”
Lead times, what arrives in the crate and what support looks like after delivery.
Demonstration days run Tuesday to Thursday. We bring an OR-01 or OR-02 Pro, a dock and an engineer, and work through the task you are unsure about.
Start with the robot that fits the work today. Hands, sensor heads and batteries move between models, so the fleet can change without starting over.
Standard configurations. Every figure is measured on the bench; method sheets are in Downloads.
Swap a hand or a sensor head in the field with one tool. Prices are per unit, before tax.
Try a different type or model, or clear the search. Custom end effectors are scoped by our engineering team.
Five systems, designed together in Rivergate and shared across every model. Choose one to see what it does and how we measure it.
Six global-shutter depth cameras sit behind a single curved visor, with an IMU in the skull and torque sensing in every joint. The visor keeps lenses clean and keeps people from feeling watched.
Quasi-direct-drive actuators with low gear ratios, so the robot can feel contact through its own motors and yield before anything is pinched.
The D11 hand has eleven joints, tendon-driven fingers and tactile pads at each fingertip. It ships on the OR-02 Pro and fits every other model.
from oryn import Robot, Skill from oryn.perception import find class SortVials(Skill): def run(self, robot: Robot): for vial in find("vial", region="rack_a"): robot.hands.right.grasp(vial, max_force_n=1.2) robot.place(vial, "rack_b", slot=vial.label) # oryn sim run skills/sort_vials.py --model or-02
Onboard compute with a 275 TOPS neural processor runs perception and motion locally. Your code talks to the robot through the same Python and C++ SDK whether it runs on the robot, in the simulator or on a workstation.
Speed and force limits are enforced in firmware, below the SDK, so no skill can override them. A wireless stop and a stop button on the back halt motion and settle the robot into a stable crouch.
Each layer is versioned and tested on its own, and every release runs in simulation before it reaches a robot.
Joint control at 1 kHz, safety limits and stop channels. Signed, never user-editable.
LockedReal-time Linux with perception, state estimation and logging. Updated over the air, rollback from the dock.
Updated monthlyWalking, balance, reaching and whole-body planning exposed as composable skills.
Open APIPython or C++ on the robot, in the simulator or through the ROS 2 bridge. You own the code you write.
YoursForce, speed and workspace limits are enforced in signed firmware. A skill can ask for less, never for more.
A hardware button on the back and a wireless stop on a lanyard. Either one settles the robot into a stable crouch.
The robot slows and turns its visor toward a person entering its workspace, so people can read what it will do next.
Joint states, contacts and stops are recorded locally for 30 days and can be exported for your own safety review.
Build the skill against a digital twin of your space. Runs on a laptop, no robot needed.
Run it on the robot at reduced speed with an engineer, and review the logs together.
Set when and where the skill may run. The robot docks itself between sessions.
Monthly OS releases, tested in simulation first and rolled back from the dock if needed.
Datasheets, test methods, CAD envelopes and the SDK reference for every model.
Go to downloadsFour kinds of work our partners run every week. Each page covers the brief, the configuration they chose and what changed once the robot arrived.
Most first conversations start with a short description of the space, the objects involved and who will supervise the robot. We will tell you plainly if a humanoid is the wrong tool.
Floor surfaces, stairs or ramps, door widths and where the dock could live.
Sizes, weights and how fragile they are. A photo of a typical tray or shelf helps a great deal.
Who works nearby, who supervises the robot and how often the task changes.
Everything an engineering or procurement team asks for, versioned and dated. Safety documents are updated with every firmware release.
Try another model or file type. If you need a document we do not publish, such as a test report, ask and we will send it under NDA.
Test reports, risk assessments and electrical schematics are shared with customers and evaluating teams on request.
Firmware and SDK release notes go out on the first Tuesday of each month, together with the journal.
Notes from the design studio, the test bench and our partners' sites. Written by the people who build the robots.
New articles, release notes and the occasional invitation to an open lab day. No sales sequences.
SubscribeOryn started in 2019 as four engineers and an industrial designer in a former tannery on the Rivergate waterfront. We still design, build and test every robot there.
Most humanoids are designed to impress on video. We wanted ours to be dull in the best sense: predictable, quiet and easy to service, so the interesting part is the work people do with them.
That decision shaped everything that followed. One mechanical and electrical interface across the family, so a lab can move a hand from one robot to another. Actuators that are quiet enough to hold a conversation beside. A visor instead of a face, because a robot pretending to smile is harder to trust than one that simply turns to look at you.
Today 84 people work across the Rivergate workshop and our field station at North Acre. We ship to research groups, laboratories, growers and public venues in 14 countries, and we answer support tickets ourselves.
Oryn is founded on Foundry Quay with a grant for quiet actuator research and one borrowed CNC mill.
P3 walks the length of the workshop unassisted. Its visor is a cut-down welding mask.
Forty units go to universities, including the Movement Lab at Rivergate Institute.
A working glasshouse and barn where OR-03 Field learned mud, rain and long gravel aisles.
Two new platforms, the D11 hand and the open SDK 3.0 arrive together in March.
Both sites run open lab days four times a year. The next one is on 14 November 2026.

Robots log joint states, contacts and stops locally for 30 days. Logs leave the robot only when you export them or open a support ticket and attach them. Camera images are processed on the robot and are not stored unless a skill you wrote saves them.
Demo requests are kept for 24 months after our last contact. Newsletter addresses are deleted within 30 days of unsubscribing.
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion at any time. We reply within one month.
Write to privacy@oryn.example or to the Data Protection Lead, Oryn Robotics, 7 Foundry Quay, Rivergate Science Park.
We answer privacy requests within one month, usually much sooner. You can also ask us to delete a demo request at any time.
Last updated 1 March 2026. A summary of how we quote, deliver and support Oryn platforms. Your signed agreement takes precedence.
Quotes are valid for 60 days and list the platform, modules, care plan and delivery as one figure in your currency. Orders are confirmed in writing with a 30 percent deposit.
Lead times are stated on each quote: currently 4 to 6 weeks for OR-01, 10 to 12 weeks for OR-02 Pro and 12 to 14 weeks for OR-03 Field. An Oryn engineer installs the dock, runs the safety walk-through and trains two operators on site.
Oryn OS updates and the SDK are included for the life of the platform. Code you write with the SDK belongs to you.
We take every platform back. Modules are refurbished or recycled, and you receive credit toward the next generation.
We send the complete terms with every quote. If your procurement team needs them earlier, ask and we will share the current version.
We could not find /. It may have moved when we renamed the models. These are good places to start.
